Shigeo Shingo believed the single greatest barrier to delivering value to the customer, in the way the customer wants it, is the difficulty organizations find in changing over from one value delivery process to another. Shingo had two great insights: 1. Don't improve something that can be eliminated; and 2. To reduce changeover time, separate internal from external. This blog will deal with how to use these insights to improve delivery of value to meet customer requirements.
